Just over 10 years ago Soul:ution was born. We have asked our 1st ever guest to return. DJ Marky is back again…
Marcus Intalex (Soul:R)
DJ Marky (Innerground Records)
Bane (Realignment Recordings)
MC DRS (Estate Recordings)
If you have ever been to see Marcus DJ, you should know the score. He blends cutting edge futuristic drum & bass, incorporating influences from the past & present. The man who started Soul:ution back in 2002. One of Manchester’s key figure heads within the electronic music scene, label boss and highly respected producer. Metalheadz, Dispatch Recordings, Ingredients Records, Samurai Music, Renegade Hardware, Critical Recordings, Shogun Audio, Blu Mar Ten Music, Spearhead Records & Hospital Records have all put out his music in the last decade.
Marco Antônio Silva AKA Marky Mark AKA DJ Marky began his love affair with drum & bass and jungle in around 1992. He managed to achieve worldwide status and a reputation as one of the most exciting, skilful & innovative DJ’s on the planet. His combination of extreme turntable skill and dynamite selection, sets him apart from the rest! He is a true don in his field and a master of turntablism. In 2001 Marky was involved with the now classic “The Brazil EP” on V Records. Around the same time he dropped “The Brazilian Job” Mix CD for Movement & the “Lowdown 7” Mix CD for Knowledge magazine. DJ Marky has released for some of the most respected and revered drum & bass labels, such as Soul:R, Eastside, CIA, Human Elements & his own imprint Innerground Records. DJ Marky was Soul:ution’s first ever guest back in 2002 so it seems only right time to bring him back again.
Jim has been the drum & bass specialist at Eastern Bloc Records for nearly a decade. He has now established himself as the Soul:ution resident due to his knowledge of the genre and technical skill as a DJ. Look out for a forthcoming vinyl release scheduled under the name “Pattern” for Realignment Recordings. “Pattern – Draft” (Original / AnD Remix).
Resident for Soul:ution since day one, part of the Broke’N’£nglish family and your favourite MC’s favourite MC. He was recently crowned as Best MC in the D&B Arena Awards 2012, a well deserved achievement I am sure you will agree. The debut LP “I Don’t Usually Like MC’s But..” proves how versatile he is on the mic.
