Golden Voices are pleased to present a rare and unmissable workshop with dynamic choral director and composer John Mark Harrison.
This is a brilliant opportunity to learn new repertoire, vocal and workshop skills, and to sing John’s own compositions with the Golden Voices choir. All voices are welcome, any level from beginner to experienced vocal practitioners.
A much sought after workshop leader and choral director throughout New England and the UK, John performs and teaches in a variety of styles that reflect his eclectic background in music. Raised in the church, he sang in professional choirs under Richard Connelly and James Litton. Following school he spent 13 years in New York City where he led his own bands and performed with the likes of Otis Rush, Buster Poindexter, The Uptown Horns, and Bobby Radcliff. John currently directs the Montpelier Community Gospel Choir and Rock City!, Vermont’s rock and soul chorus as well as leading after-school World Music choruses in central Vermont.
John will be teaching some of his own gospel and shape-note compositions for acappella choir.
Tea and coffee are provided. Cakes are on sale!
This is a seated show held in the Picturehouse Bar.
