Sid Griffin is the ex-leader of the Long Ryders, a foundation stone of Alt-country and an important link in the chain of Americana. He is currently the main man behind the Coal Porters. He is performing solo for the first time in several years after releasing his highly-acclaimed solo album, The Trick Is To Breathe, which was Uncut magazine’s Americana Album Of The Month late in 2014 and appeared on many Best Of lists at the year’s end.

An author of four books including the Amazon best-selling music tome Million Dollar Bash: Bob Dylan, The Band & the Basement Tapes, Sid also wrote the liner notes for the recent Basement Tapes box set of Dylan’s legendary 1967 sessions. Sid is also heard frequently on BBC6 Music’s Radcliffe & Maconie show where he is “Resident Musicologist”.

For this new series of solo performances Sid Griffin will be playing as a solo in across Europe and his native Kentucky before his Band on the Wall appearance so he should be in topnotch form, his legendary skills as a raconteur refreshed and his acoustic 12-string guitar work at fever pitch.

“Sid Griffin was playing Americana years before the term was invented and that pioneer spirit shines on in his current music” Billy Bragg
