Roze Gold is a DJ who curate’s her sets with the intention of
promoting joy, sensuality and connection. A fan of mixing things up, creative selections and a vocal! She is endlessly passionate about a diverse range of global club genres along with the cultural heritage which give them their power.
As a teenager in Leeds in the early naughties, she found a home in sound system and free party culture and it has left a deep and long lasting imprint on her. Steadfast in the belief that music, community & grassroots, collective spaces feed the soul and contribute towards huge shifts in society, helping to combat seemingly relentless discrimination, ignorance and oppression.
As a listener, dancer & promoter she is a big supporter of the current wave of producers & artists hailing from Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean; whose roots and influence have only grown in strength,diversity and recognition in the UK since the early rave days. Roze Gold’s DJ sets are genre spanning, and can travel through Dembow, Cumbia, Dancehall, Kuduro & Baile Funk alongside UK Funky, Bruk, UKG & Soulful House. Also partial to a 90’s R&B club edit!!
Alongside guest mixes and radio shows 2022/23 has seen Naomi
start to curate her own events in Cumbria & Lancaster; Co-hosting the very first ‘Lancarnaval’ – a Brazilian festival in the North West, Starting her own monthly night ‘Juicy Fruit’ and playing at underground venues, festivals and events in the North which champion global sound system culture such as Samedia Shebeen, Kelburn Garden Party, Boombox Circus and Bazuka.
