The forever controversial and eternally experimental new wave art-rock legends Pere Ubu visit Manchester touring their latest album project Lady From Shanghai support from very special guest Variety Lights featuring Mercury Rev frontman David Barker.

A transcendent blend of krautrock, new wave and garage rock, Pere Ubu can easily claim to be one of avant-garde music’s most adored acts. The Cleveland group, with charismatic vocalist David Thomas at the helm, have been around since the mid 1970s, and have released over 20 albums in their time. The forthcoming, much-anticipated, Lady from Shanghai will be their first full studio album since 2006′s I Hate Women. Tonight’s Pere Ubu line-up also features long-time collaborator and electronic music pioneer Gagarin. Advance booking strongly recommended for what promises to be a hell of night packed full of surprises and musical delights.
