On Your Doorstep Mcr was created by Natalie-Eve Williams and Michelle Snowdon and uses online music sessions and features as a way of focusing on and elevating people’s wellbeing. Working with artists, creatives and members of the public the platform has explored many of the different ways music and environment can change people’s lives and mindsets for the better.
OYD Mcr are thrilled to finally be able to launch a series of in person events, bringing the ‘music for wellbeing’ ethos to the live stage. Our first event will celebrate and shine a light of some of the many amazing women in Mcrs current music scene. Featuring four artists from different genres, the evening will be a love in for all things music.
Superbs Sunday.., The backstory behind the name of our event…
The On Your Doorstep Mcr co founders decided to lovingly name their event ‘Superbs Sunday’ after the nickname for their own monthly gathering as a friendship group. There were always 4 ‘Superbs’.. but sadly in 2020 4 best friends, became 3 with the very sad and unexpected loss of Mcr singer and songwriter Denise Johnson.
‘We all made a pact that at least one Sunday a month we would connect with friends, laugh, celebrate each other and heal through friendship and music. The name ‘Superbs Sunday’ seemed a fitting way of celebrating the memory of our Denise’. Shel,Nat & Michelle.
The unofficial versions of these gatherings have been an escape from the strains of everyday life and introduced us to some amazing people and music along the way, so with that in mind On Your Doorstep Mcr would like the first ‘official’ Superbs Sunday event to welcome all music lovers to join them at BOTW to connect through live music and celebrate friendship. We can’t wait to see you there…
