A word from Night of the Living Dread’s very own Mikey D.O.N:
For this Post-Christmas dancehall special, I’m bringing it back home and calling in a Manchester Reggae DJ that was one of the original DJs to have graced the city centre club scene. Calling this session ‘D.O.N. OF ALL DOM’s’ – it is a true honour and a privilege to welcome onboard to break his NotLD ‘duck’, none other than the ‘Big Belly Selector’, the ‘Champion Guinness Guzzler’ himself, the one & only ‘Good Guy’ ‘KING SPINNA’ DOMINIC aka DOM (BLOOD & FIRE)
From being the ‘go-to Man’ at BLOOD & FIRE RECORDS, to DJing the synonymous ‘Arch Bar’ sessions (Hulme) in the 2000’s, to doing numerous World Tours with the likes of Ranking Joe, Trinity & Dillinger to name a few, DOM has been setting the trend for nuff DJs to follow since the early 90’s, so to bring him up onstage to deliver more musical niceness was only a matter of time!
Also invited to welcome in the New Year, is another legend the music scene – foundation MCR artist CITY CULTURE (from veteran MCR Duo ‘COUNTRY CULTURE’), will hold down mic duties and showcase some of his works. All this alongside B.O.T.W. Selector MIKEY D.O.N. (one-third of the legendary UK rap group KRISPY 3), this is going to be one musical showdown!
BOTH DJs will be armed to the teeth with KILLER tunes – including DUBPLATES, so expect to hear nothing less than absolute BANGERS & SPARKLERS (get it?) in ALL genres of Reggae OLD & NEW – from DUB to DANCEHALL, ROOTS ROCKERS to RAGGA, LOVERS ROCK & anything else in the mix! Also, as on ALL previous N.O.T.L.D. Sessions, expect to see GUARANTEED party vibes as per usual!
