  • 7.30pm
  • Band on the Wall, Manchester
  • FREE ENTRY.

New Manchester Review presents another free entry night of the most exciting emerging music around.

This time we welcome one of Manchester’s best loved contemporary bands, Air Cav. With a sound that draws influences in equal measure from West Coast psych, garage rock and traditional English folk melodies, Air Cav are one of the most dynamic artists we’ve seen in quite a while, With debut LP ‘Don’t Look Indoors’ gaining rave reviews from all corners, drawing comparisons to The Warlocks and Spacemen 3 and having recently shared stages with the likes of Wye Oak and Ringo Deathstarr, Air Cav are a band that we have been looking forward to having on for quite some time.

Also on the bill is Jonny Powell & The Big Sad Face of Infinity. Former frontman of acclamed neo-folk band The Dharma Bums, this new solo project showcases Powell’s songwriting talent in a distinctive style. Full of eerie reverb and cold, sparse electronica, his music has been described as a perfect balance of ‘melancholy and madness’.

We are also proud to present Nytophonia. Described as a band that ought to have been born in a suitcase under a table in a Variety Theatre of the 1920’s”, their incredibly entertaining sound is a blend of Vaudeville theatre, 20’s jazz and what can only be described as ‘horror movie show tunes’.

Plus NMR DJs playing an all-vinyl set til late.

FREE ENTRY.
