My Generation Club feat: Trevor Roots and the Collaborators + Satisfaction DJs

Band on the Wall continues its very special nights aimed at over-50s and their friends.

The 1960s saw ‘Beat’ and Motown taking centre stage, but by the late 1960s / early 70s, the wonderful sounds of Ska and Reggae began to influence popular culture. Desmond Dekker and the Aces ‘Israelites’ became the first UK reggae number one in 1969 and the likes of Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Toots and the Maytals, and Jimmy Cliff soon became household names.

‘My Generation’ is here again blending a ‘Live’ Manchester based seven-piece Reggae Band – ‘Trevor Roots and the Collaborators’ with our Satisfaction DJS – who’ll be once again getting their vinyls out and playing classic mod, rock, pop, motown, funk and soul hits from your ‘Generation’. Meet up with friends, make new friends and don’t be afraid of coming along on your own.

The first live performance will begin at 7.45pm but the DJs will be playing from 7pm and our Picturehouse Cafe Bar is open from 4.30pm for drinks and more.

The evening is presented by My Generation Social Scene with support from Manchester Cultural Strategy Team, Valuing Older People and the Great Manchester Community Foundation

TICKETS NOW ONLY AVAILABLE IN PERSON FROM THE BAND ON THE WALL BOX OFFICE. BOX OFFICE OPEN FROM 5PM.
