Bringing the hazy California heat to the streets of Manchester, Mt. Joy’s guitar-propelled psychedelic rock is a sonic emblem of their Americana roots.
Their most recent release – the album Orange Blood – saw them elevate their sound to dizzying new heights, as they searched for beauty in a world ruined by COVID.
With influences that spin from Blues to alt rock – and even some elements of jazz – each track offers a slice of something different, with the intricacies of their musical ability consistently at front and centre.
Musical talent aside, it’s the connection between the band and their audience that makes their live performances particularly special. With a rough few years behind them, there’s a mutual appreciation that’s flourished between both artist and fan in the ruins of the pandemic. Each live performance feels like a real moment of gratitude – the fulfilment of which you’re only able to grasp once you’re stood right there in the crowd.
