The clumsy DJ has broken his leg, so in his place we proudly present, for this month’s Keep it Unreal:
Colleen ‘Cosmo’ Murphy + MC Kwasi + Daddy Ad (Trojan Sound System)
One of the best selectors we’ve had on the Band on the Wall stage in ages, we’re psyched to announced the return of the Classic Album Sundays DJ. Colleen ‘Cosmo’ Murphy cut her teeth at David Mancuso’s Loft Parties during the 1990’s and is a torchbearer for his loft party ethos. She worked closely with the late DJ and party organiser on volumes one and two of David Mancuso Presents The Loft as well as partially realised Loft Audiophile Library of Music. Her Classic Album Sundays have become an international institution and as a club DJ she has become known for her eclectic, floor-filling selections.
We also welcome Daddy Ad, from London-based Trojan Sound System. A legendary selector, he relentlessly tours the globe, representing the most seminal Reggae and Ska record label in history. For the past decade, Trojan Sound System have spread their message of love and unity through the power of Ska, Roots, Dub, Dancehall and UK Bass music.
They will be joined by hype maestro MC Kwasi on vocals, serving up a melting pot of jazz, soul, hip hop, funk, disco, deep house, reggae, afrobeat, latin, and plenty of goodies that don’t fit into any category.
The famous Mr. Scruff tea shop and visuals will be in full swing as usual!
This is a non-mobile disco.
Please don’t use cameras and phones on the dance floor. We ask this because we want the dancefloor to be a place where everyone can be in the moment. If you’re tweeting, texting, bidding for a pair of socks on eBay or taking a picture of your friends, you’re not only out of the moment, you also might be making it hard for someone else to be in the moment. The bar or balcony is a much better place for this.
