Creators of one of the most innovative, cult hip-hop records of the 2000s, Blu & Exile are masters of their craft. Hailing from LA, Blu was initially influenced by gospel and Christian rap before developing a passion for gangster rap. He worked as the hype man for rap and soul artists, and then met Exile: the wicked producer that brought the alternative rapper’s laidback song writing style to life.
In the intervening years, the duo have released a number of mixtapes, albums and EPs – together and separately – to critical acclaim. Their most recent output, Miles: From an Interlude Called Life, is a twenty-track-long record celebrating the jazz legend Miles Davies.
