Masterclass with The Futureheads frontman Barry Hyde

  • Band on the Wall, Manchester

We’re delighted to welcome Barry Hyde, frontman of North East band The Futureheads for a one-off masterclass at Sing City.

Exploring post-punk, new wave and pop music, The Futureheads were among the best of the UK’s “angular” movement which also included Franz Ferdinand and Bloc Party. Since releasing their 2004 debut album, they’ve produced a body of ambitious and inventive work, placing them alongside some of the best Indie-rock sensations.

The masterclass is presented in partnership with Generator as part of their Take Note programme and is supported by Youth Music. It’s completely free and open to young people aged 13-25. No experience is necessary.

The session will give young songwriters and producers the opportunity to learn about techniques, views and influences of experienced artist Barry Hyde as he demonstrates to attendees how he writes and records music. This masterclass is essential for anyone looking to gain an insight into songwriting and production or develop their existing skills.
