Masterclass with Field Music

We’re delighted to welcome Mercury Music Prize nominees Field Music for a one-off masterclass at Sing City.

Field Music are regarded as one of British indie’s leading lights, with the Brewis brothers involved in a number of collaborative and solo musical projects to broaden their composition and production palette. From the classically influenced chamber-pop of Frozen by Sight, Peter Brewis’ project with Maximo Park’s Paul Smith, to the synthy new wave of David Brewis’ School of Language, their adaptability and creative drive is what sets them apart as musicians today.

The masterclass is presented in partnership with Generator as part of their Take Note programme and is supported by Youth Music. It’s completely free and open to young people aged 13-25. No experience is necessary.

The session will give young songwriters and producers the opportunity to learn about techniques, views and influences of experienced artists Peter and David Brewis as they demonstrate to attendees how they write and record their music. This masterclass is essential for anyone looking to gain an insight into songwriting and production or develop their existing skills.
