We’re delighted to welcome Manchester’s own psychedelic-pop band Blossoms for a one-off masterclass at Sing City.
Blossoms are a band on the upward curve, having played at Austin’s world famous South by South West festival this year and signed to Virgin EMI records. They have impressed listeners and fellow musicians alike with a run of well-crafted, psychedelic-pop singles, and they’re currently in the process of recording their debut album ahead of a nationwide headline tour.
The masterclass is presented in partnership with Generator as part of their Take Note programme and is supported by Youth Music. It’s completely free and open to young people aged 13-25. No experience is necessary.
The session will give young songwriters and producers the opportunity to learn about techniques, views and influences of experienced artists as they demonstrate to attendees how they write and record their music. This masterclass is essential for anyone looking to gain an insight into songwriting and production or develop their existing skills.
Our free Sing City sessions continue to build, develop and nourish the talent of young people by incorporating regular performance opportunities into our programme. Sessions are led by a team of expert vocalists and music educators who all work professionally in the music industry, this fantastic team includes Sara Lowes (Solo artist and composer) and Yvonne Shelton (Gloria Estefan, Simply Red, George Michael).
At the end of every month, there is a Sing City Live under 18’s performance night where everybody comes together to perform live on stage, to an invited audience, at Band on the Wall.
Sing City is free and open to young people aged 13 – 18.
