Mark Radcliffe—radio broadcaster, musician, and writer—is best known as one half of BBC Radio 1’s semi-legendary Mark and Lard and one half of 6 Music’s Radcliffe & Maconie. This August, Mark introduces a brand-new double-act partner to the stage: his beloved, pampered five-year-old Cavapoo, Arlo.
In March 2024, Mark and Arlo set off from Cheshire in their VW Beetle convertible for a three-month sojourn in Rome. Join them in conversation as they recount their adventures, taking in the sights (and sniffs) of the Eternal City. Expect tales of Arlo being taunted by his mortal enemies at the city’s cat colony, the pros and cons of queueing for pizza at a trattoria, Arlo’s fear of water (even at the Trevi Fountain), uncovering what the Spanish had to do with those famous steps, and visiting the site where Shakespeare’s Caesar uttered, “Et tu, Brute?”
