Since running with Sound Systems since the late 70’s & releasing his first material in the early 1980’s (under a different guise), TREVOR ROOTS is a name that many REAL roots reggae fans should & will be familiar with – as he continually pushes & represents roots reggae all over the UK, so it is only right that we call him into perform here on the legendary B.O.T.W. stage for his FIRST TIME EVER with his latest outfit TREVOR ROOTS & THE COLLABORATORS. Spreading a positive musical message in every song they sing, they are undoubtedly a group with energy, a driving force of quality that radiates positive vibes & generates heat everytime they perform. So if you have not had the pleasure of hearing them before, be prepared to be uplifted by their mixture of original material along with some well worked covers from the likes of Dennis Brown, Bob Marley & Burning Spear to mention a few.
Heavily responible for contributing & keeping the ‘Roots’ in Manchester’s Roots Reggae music scene, NUCLEUS ROOTS have been playing, recording & releasing quality Roots music for the best part of the last Eighteen years. Fronted by all-round musician PAUL LUSH, Nucleus Roots’ music has been supported, endorsed & championed by the likes of UK leading Sound Systems Jah Shaka, Aba-Shant-I & Iration Steppers to name a few. Spawning out of the ashes of Manchester’s legendary punky-reggae group Community Charge, Nucleus have worked with many top reggae artists like Mykal Rose, Twinkle Brothers, not to mention local artists like Moses, Kuntri Ranks, Country Culture, Simon Dan, Natural-Ites’ Lead Singer Ossie Gad…the list is long & impressive. Honing their skills towards the modern steppers scene, they have taken their music across many continents & played many festivals, which have gained them a huge following who love & support what they musically stand for. So, once again its time for them to welcome them to grace the BOTW stage & represent for the fans in their hometown.
