Influenced by blues and guitar greats such as Walter Trout, Eric Clapton, Gary Moore, Rory Gallagher and Albert Collins, Laurence Jones is one of the the most promising young guitarists on the blues scene today. Cited as the ‘young gunslinger of the blues’, Jones recently secured a deal with Ruf Records – home to the likes of Louisiana Red, Canned Heat and fellow young blues prodigy Oli Brown. Recorded at the iconic Dockside Studio, Louisiana – where B.B King and Derek Trucks once laid down tracks, Jones’s latest release features guest licks from Walter Trout, Aynsley Lister, Yonrico Scott, Charlie Wooton and producer Mike Zito.
Jones was awarded the ‘Young Artist of the Year’ prize at the 2014 British Blues Awards ceremony held at the Great British R&B Festival and Classic Rock magazine described him as “the future of the blues” as well as awarding the Thunder in the Sky LP a 5/5 review.
