“No place big enough for holding / All the tears you’re gonna cry / ’Cause your mama’s name was lonely / And your daddy’s name was pain / And they call you little sorrow / ’Cause you’ll never love again / Why you wanna fly blackbird / You ain’t ever gonna fly”

Lady Blackbird’s journey unfolds like a poignant melody, as encapsulated in the soulful lyrics of Nina Simone’s “Blackbird.”

The past two years have witnessed her inadvertently becoming a revolutionary soundtrack while achieving the distinction of releasing one of 2021’s most critically acclaimed debut albums, “Black Acid Soul.” The deluxe 2022 re-release, featuring 11 new tracks and remixes by notable artists, solidified her standing in modern music. Lady Blackbird’s performances on various platforms, including Jools Holland and BBC2 Piano Room, added to her breakout success. Lady Blackbird’s journey also includes collaborations with Moby, Goldie, Jamie Cullum, and others, showcasing her diverse musical range. Her live performances garnered acclaim in cities worldwide, and she continues to contribute to various projects, such as covering iconic songs and participating in advertising campaigns. Currently, she is in the process of recording her second album, slated for a 2024 release.
