Brazilian music legend Antonio Carlos Jobim once called Joyce Moreno ‘one of the best singers of all time. [She has] bossa, tuning, improvisation, rhythm, musicality, femininity, courage, total command of the ball.’ Emerging onto the thriving bossa nova scene of the 1960s, Joyce quickly became a star, acclaimed both for her songwriting and for her musicianship, both as a singer and a guitarist. She has played Band on the Wall many times over the years and has a great love for Manchester and the venue – so much so she actually wrote a song called The Band on the Wall!
