Straight from Australia with an electrifying energy, the Josh Meader Trio is redefining the boundaries of modern jazz guitar and cutting-edge fusion. Led by Josh Meader, a guitar prodigy and First-Class Honours graduate of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, the trio serves as a perfect bridge between jazz tradition and the latest global trends.
Meader has become an essential reference point in the international guitar community, thanks to his lightning-fast phrasing and melodic sensitivity. These qualities have seen him grace legendary stages such as Montreux Jazz Festival, and JazzAhead in Bremen. Recently, his artistic standing was further solidified by a high-profile collaboration with the iconic drummer Virgil Donati on a reimagining of Allan Holdsworth’s City Nights, a project met with widespread acclaim from international critics.
The trio is completed by two heavyweights of the Australian scene, both winners of the prestigious National Jazz Award: Alex Hirlian on drums (2018) and Matt Thomson on keyboards (2021).
Following their standout performance at Rome’s CrossRoads Live Club in October 2025, the trio returns to Europe in 2026 for a second chapter made again by Davide Leoni (MFA MANAGEMENT) that promises to be one of the year’s most exciting musical events.
