Former Twisted Wheel frontman Jonny Brown performs a rare, intimate solo show at Band on the Wall – reborn and equipped with new songs alongside some Wheel classics.
Twisted Wheel first emerged as a stellar, incendiary three piece from Oldham in 2008, quickly gaining admiration and support slots with Oasis, Kasabian, Paul Weller, Ian Brown, Happy Mondays, The View, The Courteeners, and The Enemy to name but a few.
While their eponymous debut album was undoubtedly full of charisma, feral authentic lyrics and simple, elegant melodies, the more introspective pieces were left on the sidelines in favour of the anthems and stomps. Throughout a hectic touring schedule, including multiple sold-out world tours, there was always the feeling that these songs needed to be heard. Now is the time.
Following Jonny Brown’s live show, we’re throwing a free afterparty with Only Joking Records til late, playing everything from Northern Soul to classic indie floor-fillers!
This is a standing show.
