Bare Wires

Since getting their big break guesting on the first Robert Cray tour, followed by TV appearances on Granada TV and on the BBC’s Paul Jones Show Bare Wires have become well known on the British Blues Festival scene.

Of the new line-up The Manchester Evening News said: “Bare Wires, a Manchester band of long standing have reinvented themselves. They blew into town like a breath of fresh air with a distinctive new character” and said of singer songwriter Chris Gee: “A man with a remarkable talent for working in a bygone idiom so naturally that his compositions sounded convincingly authentic”

Having guested with other greats as Albert King, Ronnie Earl and Walter Trout, Bare Wires have also backed many visiting American bluesmen including Lowell Fulson, Lefty Diz, Mojo Buford, Joe Houston, Byther Smith and Phil Guy on their UK tours.

The line-up features a guest appearance of long time musical mentor and collaborator: Norman Beaker, rounding off a stunning evening which is being recorded for release as a live DVD at The Band on The Wall.

The band line-up is:

Paul Gilchrist,  Lead, and Slide Guitar
