Imagine an electrifying fusion of futuristic SynthPop, Shoegaze guitars, DreamPop and cosmic, lush synths from the year 9000 — landing in Los Angeles in a riot of dazzling colour. Think Sprinkles and Rainbows meets Alice in Wonderland meets Sgt. Pepper, elevated by the raw, soul-stirring power of a Black Gospel Choir.
Hyperreal fuse lush synths, shoegaze guitars, DreamPop soundscapes and an AfroFuturistic rhythm section, fronted by a female drummer, with the electrifying energy and euphoric harmonies of Black Gospel. The result is a live experience that feels completely unlike anything else.
Fresh from a sold-out Spring UK tour and multiple Summer festival appearances, Hyperreal are back on the road with new songs and a completely reimagined set.
At the heart of Hyperreal is a rallying cry for the different, the misfits and the outsiders, anyone who has ever struggled to fit in, been told they’re too much, too strange, or simply not enough. This is music about throwing all of that out the window, embracing who you are and taking pride in standing outside the norm.
Described as “joyful sadness,” Hyperreal’s music combines introspective, soul-searching, heart-on-sleeve lyrics with an unapologetic rush of euphoria. And when those songs are lifted by the full force of a Black Gospel Choir, the emotional impact is impossible to ignore.
Futuristic. Colourful. Soulful. Euphoric.
Hyperreal are building something completely different.
