Band on the Wall invites you to takes a trip on the sonic starship with legendary psychedelic rockers Here & Now.

Emerging in 1974 from the same Ladbroke Grove squatter scene as Hawkwind, the legendary space rock jams of Here & Now became central highlights of the golden age of UK free festivals including events such Stonehenge and Deeply Vale. They have been long-time collaborators with Gong and in 1977 Daevid Allen and Gilli Smyth recruited the band to tour with them under the name Planet Gong, and this combination released a live album Floating Anarchy 1977 and a single Opium for the People. The band also forged a strong relationshp with punk pundit Mark P‘s group Alternative TV, touring together and releasing a joint live album What You See Is What You Are. Recently revitalised under the long-term stewardship of Keith The Bass,  but with Mark Robson of Kangaroo Moon and Magick Brothers on vocals and keyboards, the band’s firing on all cylinders and keeping faithful to their underground, visionary spirit. Come enjoy these psychedelic renegades and they turn on, tune up and freakout the Band on the Wall.

This event starts at 8pm but our Picturehouse cafe bar will be open from 5.30 for drinks and homemade, freshly prepared food.
