Hadouk‘s mesmerising sound is an intoxicating and heady mix of jazz, world and ambient influences – a sound probably best summed up in the band’s name. Hadouk derives from merging the words Hajouj (an African bass) and Doudouk (an Armenian oboe). The Hadouk Trio is a band with a sound like no other.

Consisting of Gong founding member Didier Malherbe on clarinet, saxophone, flutes, ocarinas and hajouj; master of North African Gnawa music Loy Ehrlich on strings, keyboards, hajouj, kora and sanza and, very special guest percussionist for the night, Prabhu Edouard who is widely regarded as France’s finest tabla player. The result is an ethno-jazz that soars, duck and dives through exotic musical landscapes that is quite simply enthralling.

This concert will begin at 8pm but our Picturehouse Cafe Bar is open for delicious food & drinks from 5.30pm.
