Finalists for the 2023 Australian Folk Music Awards’ Artist of the Year, Gusto Gusto are dance floor favourites. Hailing from West Preston, a tiny pocket in Melbourne’s northern suburbs, the last two years have seen them releasing two EPs and playing stages from Glastonbury Festival to Woodford Folk Festival.
Galivantes are a 7-piece female-fronted ‘trumpet-punk’ band hailing from Manchester. Their sound is crafted by taking various elements of ska, reggae, punk, folk and disco, then infusing it with political discourse and social commentary. It’s like The Pixies and Gogol Bordello had a baby and it was called the Bee Gees. The music is fast, fun, and enjoyed by sweat-drenched audiences around the UK.
