Greater Manchester Music Action Zone, Brighter Sound and Band on the Wall celebrate the launch of GMMAZ Records and the release of the debut album ‘Living to our Habitat’.
The label is run by a group of young people ranging from 11 to 19 years of age, from across Greater Manchester who have turned a music project into an amazing opportunity to create their own record label, and release their music on iTunes.
The 10 track debut album from A.M.P (the GMMAZ Advanced Music Programme), ‘Living To Our Habitat’ reflects the experiences, surroundings and viewpoints of young people growing up in Manchester. Musical influences of Soul, Rap, Jazz, Gospel, Dub & Rock reveal an eclecticism that is a true representation of Manchester’s youth culture.
The showcase will also include performances from different projects working with GMMAZ over the last year.
