To celebrate Human Rights Day, Freedom From Torture present maverick singer-songwriter Gideon Conn plus Josephine Oniyama, Batala Liverpool, Stand Out Riot and Beating Wing Orchestra.

Gideon Conn completed an art degree in Manchester where he quickly established a reputation for playing the piano in the main gallery and using the whole building as his studio space for outlandish sculptures. Gideon’s debut album entitled New Bop Sounds was released in 2010 – the same year he played a storming set at Band on the Wall. Catch this maverick provocateur back on his home turf for what promises to be another great night out at Manchester’s legenday venue.

The night also features live performances by:

  • Josephine Oniyama, whose beautiful songs combine the musical influences of her North-West upbringing and West African mother
  • The internationally renowned Brazilian samba group Batala Liverpool
  • The ever-lively and infectious ska-punk band Stand Out Riot
  • The unique and culturally diverse Beating Wing Orchestra

Presented by Freedrom From Torture. Sponsored by Pannone

This event starts at 7.30pm but our Picturehouse cafe bar opens earlier for hot food and drinks.
