Since winning NPR Music’s Tiny Desk Contest in 2016, violinist, singer and songwriter Gaelynn Lea has captivated audiences around the world with her haunting original songs and new takes on traditional fiddle tunes.
In 2022, she contributed a bewitching soundtrack to the production of Macbeth on Broadway starring Daniel Craig and Ruth Negga. Now she will be touring the UK for the first time since 2019 to launch her soundtrack album Music from Macbeth, released thanks to a Whippoorwill Arts Fellowship. Alongside new music from the album, Gaelynn will be performing a wide selection of favourites from her back catalogue.
One of Gaelynn’s biggest passions is promoting Disability Culture. She co-founded RAMPD [Recording Artists and Music Professionals with Disabilities] in 2022 and has since connected with d/Deaf and disabled artists globally, including Ruth Lyon and James Holt in the UK. She has also collaborated with artists as diverse as Michael Stipe, The Decemberists, and the industrial rock supergroup Pigface.
With support from Bolton-born solo artist, and multi-instrumentalist, James Holt – James has long been championed by music industry giants, such as legendary producer Brian Eno, and the listening public alike.
With each of his releases he has demonstrated an impressive musical progression – a progression that has surely been recognised by listeners around the world after amassing 3 million streams, winning international songwriting awards and gaining a loyal gig-going fanbase – and collaborations that have seen him work with some of the most acclaimed producers in the business (James Skelly, Jim Spencer). James is incredibly self-sufficient not only performing every instrument himself (drums aside) but also filming/editing his music videos, designing many of his own artwork covers and self-releasing his music.
