Join us this February as we show some of our favourite classic flicks with killer soundtracks at Band on the Wall. The bar will be open, and we’ll be serving up some special movie-themed food and drink.

A young musician, tormented by an abusive situation at home, must contend with a rival singer, a burgeoning romance, and his own dissatisfied band, as his star begins to rise.

Purple Rain is a 1984 American rock musical drama film directed by Albert Magnoli, produced by Robert Cavallo, Joseph Ruffalo, and Steven Fargnoli, and written by Magnoli and William Blinn. The film inspired the soundtrack and studio album of the same name.

The film stars Prince in his acting debut, playing a quasi-biographical person called “The Kid.” It was developed to showcase his talents and hence contains several extended concert sequences. The film won an Academy Award for Best Original Song Score.
