Band on the Wall throws another famous Funk & Soul party, featuring some of the hottest funk and soul acts on the UK scene right now, plus resident DJs keeping the vibe flowing til the early hours!

Providing unstoppable grooves since 2010 the award-winning Federation of the Disco Pimp are Scotland’s premier exponent of modern funk. Combining elements of old-school funk, disco, psychedelic and jazz, this 7-piece band of Scots are legendary for their endless energy and blistering live sets. Championed by resident funkster Craig Charles, Stephen Duffy on The Jazz House BBC Radio Scotland and Jazz FM, FOTDP have gained a solid reputation in the UK funk scene resulting in further live performances supporting Craig Charles across the UK.

2014 saw FOTDP being resident house band on BBC One’s ‘Tonight at the Games’ for ten nights during the Commonwealth Games, featuring on BBC Three every night during the Games to close their coverage, house band for a special on BBC 2’s ‘Newsnight’ live from the Fringe ‘Referendum Special’ as well as live in-studio sessions on BBC 6 Music’s Craig Charles Funk & Soul Show and BBC Radio Scotland’s ‘Jazz House on Radio Scotland’ to name a few highlights.

The Allergies is the production/DJ outfit from heavyweight disc jocks Rackabeat (Chai Wallahs) and DJ Moneyshot (Solid Steel). Drawing on such influences as Boca 45, DJ Format, Gramatik and RJD2, the pair aim to bring that vintage sound of sampled funk, beats and breaks back to the forefront of club music.

But that’s not all! Also performing live are firm Band on the Wall electro-soul favourites Family Ranks. Having already performed at two sold-out editions of the Craig Charles Funk & Soul Club at Band on the Wall and Old Granada Studios, Family Ranks are tipped as the future of electronic soul with a hip-hop flavour, with BBC 6 Music’s Tom Robinson describing them as “life affirming music”, and have been also championed by BBC 1Xtra’s DJ Target, Twin B, Trevor Nelson, A Dot, Ace and Jamz.

Resident deejays Jamie Groovement and Jonny Shire will be keeping the dancefloor bouncing til late!
