Band on the Wall presents a series of late night free entry gigs and DJ sets on our custom made second stage, located to the rear of our brand new bar. We’ll be shining a light on our favouring emerging artists across all genres with a diverse programme of global sounds from, and inspired by, the music of cultures from around the world.

Ruby Swallow has not been DJing for long but her passion for music shines through her selections.

She is part of the Eve’s Drop Collective, featuring women from all backgrounds playing awesome music across the UK. A doctor by day, DJ by night, Ruby dissects through genres as easily as whipping out an appendix! With jazz music at the heart, she plays disco to deep house, and cuts through rare groove to hip-hop. First and foremost however, her priority is to get you dancing!

Andrea Trout may tell you she spins for fun- but don’t let that fool you. A lack of the usual ego associated with those serious chaps who stand behind turntables making equally serious faces while tweaking their beards, makes her prone to underestimate a passionate, educated, heartfelt and un-hackneyed approach to music. With deep house, disco, soul and funk at its core, Andrea’s open mindedness impacts on inevitably unhinged dancers and beard stroking listeners alike.

Sarah Sweeney is a purveyor of funk, soul, disco, hip hop, house and jazz, on vinyl or any way music finds its way to her. She has had over 20 years in the game and shared the stage with World class DJs, across the UK and beyond.

Sarah began her musical journey when she was 15 years old, sneaking into the Southport Weekenders under age, becoming immersed in the unique fusion that is the UK Dance scene. Inspired by what she saw and heard, Sarah embarked on her own DJ path.

After earning her stripes, playing 5 hour sets locally, Sarah went on to become resident for Liverpool’s infamous night, Chibuku Shake Shake where she played alongside World Class DJs.

During her time living in Nottingham and London, Sarah held residencies at The Bomb, The Heavenly Social, The Big Chill, 93ft East, as well as one off nights at Fabric, The Cross, the Egg and Herbal.

Now residing in Cardiff with her family, Sarah’s love of music continues, holding one off specials across the city and further a field with her musical family in the North and South.
