Since the release of their debut album Mirror In Blue Light in 2024, Pocket Sun have steadily established themselves as one of Britain’s most immersive and sonically distinctive alternative acts. What began as a dreamy, synth-led project has expanded into a fully realised audiovisual identity that is unmistakably their own.
Over the past year, the band has caught the attention of tastemakers from CLASH to NPR, and from California to Japan. Their music has featured on curated compilations from revered selectors including Kitsuné, Chalkpit Cassette Club and Vinyl Moon, reinforcing a reputation for crafting music that feels both immediately accessible and quietly cult in appeal.
While their audience has grown outward, creatively the band have evolved inward. Through a series of self-produced singles (‘Seasons Turning Blue’, ‘Language of Dreams’ their cover of Sade’s 80s classic ‘Smooth Operator’ & ‘Symmetry’), helmed by guitarist and producer Laurence Fazakerley-Buglass, Pocket Sun have sharpened their sonic language, leaning further into textural depth and subtle detail. The result is a sound that feels more focused, more atmospheric and more self-contained than ever before.
Fronted by vocalist and synth player Gina Marie Tratt, whose background in 70s-inspired animation informs the band’s visual universe, Pocket Sun build environments as much as songs. Ethereal melodies, hypnotic grooves and poetic explorations of escapism, consciousness and nostalgia draw listeners into a space that feels immersive rather than observed.
With international momentum building and their artistic vision deepening, Pocket Sun are now working towards their second full-length album, set for release in Fall 2026.
