The daughter of music legends Martin Carthy and Norma Waterson, Eliza Carthy is firmly an artist of her own making, winning 2 Mercury Music Prize nominations and innumerable other accolades over a 15-year career. She has performed and recorded with a diverse array of artists from Paul Weller to Rufus Wainwright, Nick Cave to Joan Baez, Nitin Sawhney to Damon Albarn. A truly inventive and innovative singer and fiddle-player, and arguably the most impressive and engaging folk performer of her generation, see her live at Band on the Wall.
