Django Bates returns with his first piano trio tour in years – using this particular assembly of musicians to perform the works of jazz legend Charlie ‘Bird’ Parker. Expect Bates to explore Parker tracks taken from his Belovèd Bird album including Scrapple From the Apple, Hot House, Billie’s Bounce, Laura, My Little Suede Shoes, Now’s the Time and many more. As Django himself says “Bird Lives!”
Composer and virtuoso multi-instrumentalist Django Bates is widely regarded as one the most creative musicians in the world. Bates rose to prominence in Loose Tubes, the jazz orchestra which was considered the UK’s most exciting and inspirational groups in the 1980s and played a key role in re-energising British jazz. Since then he has gone on to become one of the stars of the international jazz scene, thrilling audiences across the world.
