Delia Stevens and David Insua-Cao: Manchester Folk Festival

Delia Stevens‘s work ranges from reimagining Vivaldi’s Four Seasons with percussion for Sky Arts as a new concerto for Sinfonia Cymru, presenting her own BBC Radio 3 series “Music and Machines” – exploring the future of music and AI following Artist Residencies at the Sage Gateshead and the University of Leeds – to performing Avner Dorman’s prolific 360° percussion concerto at Prague’s Last Night of the Proms with the Beethoven Academy Orchestra followed by a tour of Germany with the Lausitzer Philharmonie. She is an Associate Artist of the Royal Northern College of Music where she won the concerto competition and Gold Medal prize and is a double winner of the Royal Over-Seas League Award.

David Insua-Cao is a freelance drummer and percussionist living in Todmorden, Calderdale. He has performed internationally with various companies including Giffords Circus, Circo Raluy (Catalonia), Ramshacklicious street-theatre company, Can’t Sit Still theatre company, Spymonkey comedy theatre, and 1927 Theatre company. With 1927 he has performed at international arts festivals including, Melbourne, Spoleto USA and Edinburgh. This October and November he will be performing with 1927 at the Shanghai international festival and touring around East China.
David regularly performs with groups including afro-futurist artist Nwando Ebizie, vintage pop band The Black Shakes and rave-street band Mr Wilson’s Second Liners. He has collaborated with Delia Stevens on a number of projects, playing improvisational, contemporary and groove based music.
