“In the whole history of Liverpool music two bands matter most, one is The Beatles and the other is Deaf School.” Paul de Noyer, Founder of Mojo Magazine
Following the stagnation of the Mersey music scene after The Beatles split, it took the formation of art punk rockers Deaf School to reignite the city’s now enviable new wave music scene. Everyone from Teardrop Explodes and Julian Cope, Bill Drummond and The KLF, and right through to Ian Broudie and Big In Japan, drew some influences or directly collaborated with members of this seminal band. Indeed guitarist Clive Langer went on to produce Madness, Morrissey, David Bowie and Dexy’s Midnight Runners amongst many others.
Now Deaf School are back together and Band on the Wall is delighted to present them for this very special gig.
