The Craig Charles Funk & Soul Club returns for another night of floor-filling funk and soul classics, with live music from Beggar & Co. and a DJ set from the funky connoisseur Craig Charles. British jazz-funk outfit Beggar & Co. have been active since 1980, forming under the direction of Kenny Wellington and David Baptiste of Light of the World and performing with the legendary British funk outfit, while releasing their sole LP, the low-key classic ‘Monument’ in 1981. Members of the group have played with Incognito, The Fatback Band and Fred Wesley, and returned to the studio and stage with Beggar & Co. in recent years.
This event is part of Manchester Jazz Festival, Manchester’s longest-running music festival.
The 21st MJF, delivers 10 music-filled days in iconic venues across the city. MJF 2016 takes place over 22-31 July 2016.
