Band on the Wall presents a series of free entry gigs and DJ sets on our second stage, located to the rear of our brand new bar. We’ll be shining a light on our favourite emerging artists across all genres with a diverse programme of global sounds from, and inspired by, the music of cultures from around the world.
Tonight we host a special from the Band on the Wall Recordings stable.
Contours & Yadava journey deep into their record collections, drawing out cosmic sounds that touch on jazz, percussive obscurities, blissed-out ambient and minimalism, raw club cuts and any other soulful sounds.
The artists channel their sound through their NTS radio show ‘Expansions’, as well as through collaborative music released with the likes of ANMA records and Banoffee Pies. The pair have also released a string of solo releases on labels including Rhythm Section, Church and Tru Thoughts recordings, and have received support from the likes of Gilles Peterson, Benji B, Zakia, Alex Nut and many more.
