Brown Wimpenny – Manchester Folk Festival

  • Saturday | 22.03.25
  • 6.00pm
  • Band on the Wall, Manchester
  • £12

Brown Wimpenny, an 11-piece folk ensemble from south Manchester, weave traditional music from the British Isles and beyond into a vibrant web of jigs, reels, drones and choral harmonies. Described by The Quietus as a source of “energy, eccentricity, communion and joy,” they’ve performed at Green Man, Cambridge Folk Festival and Northgate Folk Festival and have sold-out five Manchester headline shows. While also involved in classical, experimental, noise and electronic projects, they are boldly carving out a unique place in the trad music scene.

For every festival show, we have set aside an allocation of tickets for Manchester Folk Festival wristband holders, so all you need to do is turn up and you’ll be let in. However, for particularly popular shows expected to sell out, we recommend arriving early as this would be the only instance where admission might be limited.
