Brighter Sound and Pen:Chant present a beatboxing and vocal looping masterclass with World and UK Beatbox Champion Bellatrix.

Brighter Sound is partnering up with Pen:Chant to present an evening workshop delivered by multiple World & UK Beatbox Champion, vocalist and bassist Bellatrix.

Aimed at emerging artists aged 14 – 25, the workshop is suitable for both experienced musicians and beginners alike. You may be a competent beatboxer wishing to extend your vocal range or looping skills, or an accomplished singer hoping to widen your palette of sound with some vocal percussion. Or you may be new to both singing and beatboxing but just want to explore your voice in a supportive and creative environment.

Bellatrix will introduce the basic elements of beatboxing, as well as more advanced techniques for the more experienced, and explore vocal looping, harmonies and effects.

The cost of the masterclass includes entry to the Pen:Chant show at Gorilla the following night featuring Bellatrix and Soweto Kinch – usual cost £12*. If you are unable to attend this gig, we’ll refund the £5 at the end of the masterclass instead.

*Please note, as tickets are limited and to avoid no-shows, you must attend the masterclass to be eligible for a gig ticket or a refund. Entry to the gig is for over 14’s only.

Open to musicians aged 14-25.

This opportunity is presented as part of our Here Come the Grrrls programme and is supported by PRS for Music Foundation and Youth Music using public funding by National Lottery through Arts Council England.
