This September we have tenor Saxophonist Dean Masser and pianist Richard Wetherall bringing their fresh spins on some classic tunes by the greatest composers from the USA, including Ellington, Gershwin, Porter.

Dean has been a featured soloist with the Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Orchestra, BBC Big Band, Alan Barnes Octet and many others. His most recent success came with the critically acclaimed 2025 album “Songs With My Father”, in collaboration with his daughter, vocalist Emily Masser. He was also the lead voice on the legendary Jack Parnell Quartet album “Live at Ronnie’s” as early as 1992.

Dean’s duo partner Richard Wetherall has been a leading light in the Manchester jazz scene for nearly 25 years. Well known for his international collaborations with artists like Bobby Wellins, Alan Skidmore, and Neil Yates, as well as fronting his own trio and quartet. His virtuosic inventiveness and subtlety are always a joy to behold, in his duo with Dean, Richard is free to deploy all of those powers of pianistic invention!
