Balkan Beat Box’s fearless 21st century fusion has earned them a massive following across Europe, the Middle East and North America. Their relentlessly energetic and carnival-esque live shows are quickly becoming the stuff of legend, earning them thundering applause from audiences wherever they play and building wild anticipation for what promises to be one of the gigs of the year at Band on the Wall.

An inspired blend of international beats, deep pulsating rock, hipster world music flourish and spot-on-the-zeitgeist intelligent protest, New York-based Balkan Beat Box is an entirely new sound – equal parts Balkan-Med, punk intensity, electronic cool, jazz discipline and hip-hop swagger. “With every record we always want to surprise people and be ahead of the curve,” says band member Ori Kaplan. “The Balkan Beat Box sound is totally our own. There’s not even a name for it yet. We want to go way past trends and always go deeper and wider.”

Touring on the back of their latest album Give, expect a night of blistering music and staggering spectacle rolled into one sublime show.

Plus support from Behar who perform passionate, soulful and poetic Sevdah music from Bosnia-Herzegovina. Often described as ‘The Balkan Blues’, ancient stories are woven into unusual rhythms and beautiful eastern harmonies influenced by Jewish, Gypsy, Islamic and Orthodox music.

This show starts at 8pm but our Picturehouse cafe bar opens earlier for delicious homemade food and drinks.
