“Alela Diane’s songs are campfire pipe dreams filled with picket fences, desert sands and paths leading back to you.The Guardian.

Sharing the same home town as Joanna Newsome, Nevada City’s Alela Diane is at the forefront of America’s psych folk scene penning truly beautiful songs which blend trance-like arpeggios with her wonderfully rich and warm voice (sometimes compared to Sandy Denny’s) and contemplative lyrics about family and nature. Now based in Portland, Oregon, her album The Pirate’s Gospel received world-wide acclaim on its label release in 2006. One of the best young songwriters we’ve come across recently, this concert promises to be a major highlight of our folk programme.

“It’s her voice that stands out – pure, effortlessly spiralling and yet beautifully still.”
The Daily Telegraph

Assured voice and preternatural affinity for placing the perfect melody in the perfect place.” The Times

Special guest for this show will be Peggy Sue.
