A very special night as we present one of the great singers, songwriters and producers of modern times performing his best known and most-loved works at Band on the Wall.

Albert Hammond’s unique gift for writing beautiful, iconic songs , has made him one of the most in demand songwriters of our times. Penning global hits such as One Moment In Time for Whitney Houston, Starship‘s Nothings Gonna Stop Us Now, Leo Sayer‘s When I Need You and, more recently , co-writing and producing Duffy‘s 2010 album Endlessly, he has remained a vital force in modern music. He wrote several hits for Tina Turner including I Don’t Wanna Lose You, Be Tender With Me Baby, Way of the World, and Love Thing. Turner also recorded the original version of Hammond’s co-written Don’t Turn Around – a UK #1 for Aswad in 1988 and a hit for Ace of Base five years later.

Also a hugely successful performing artist in his own right, his own hits have included I’m A Train, Down By The River and the much-loved It Never Rains In Southern California. For this very special concert Albert Hammond will be selecting songs from these, and his illustrious back catalogue, in what promises to be a wonderful night. Advance booking recommended.

Support tonight comes from the much-lauded English country singer Lotte Mullan
