Acoustic Bhuna is Band On The Wall’s brand new acoustic showcase evening, playing host to some of the very best acoustic music that the North West has to offer.

Every 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month, between 6 and 10pm, you will be able to see three of the regions finest acts playing for FREE in the cosy setting of Band On The Wall’s Picturehouse Cafe-Bar.

Where Joy Kills Sorrow are a folk super-group formed by three of the most talented and passionate young acoustic musicians on the Manchester scene. T.G. Elias is a song writer and vocalist whose dynamic singing style and impassioned lyrics wrench directly at the heartstrings of all who hear him. He is joined by  multi-instrumental wizard DBH and the old-time banjo and guitar mastery of Sam Schlicht of Suttree.  This is guaranteed to be acoustic music in its purest form.

T.E. Yates is a Manchester-born, Lancashire bred songwriter whose roots are reflected strongly in his impassioned folk tunes, many of which reference local history and landmarks directly. Always eccentric, and a prodigious artist as well as a musician, T.E. Yates uses his drawings and story-telling skills to punctuate and shape his performances into something much more than just a collection of fine songs.

Ash Hunter. Hailing from Knutsford, Ash Hunter is the very epitome of the modern day folk song writer. Ash’s songs are elegant, dreamy narratives of day-to-day life in his native Cheshire, with simple, poignant melodies interlacing beautifully with his spacious, melodic fingerpicking style.

As a perfect accompaniment to the live music, you can tuck into one of Chef Giles’ fresh, home made curries, made with locally sourced ingredients and a whole lot of love. And why not wash it all down with a refreshing pint of cask ale from our sponsors, Green Mill Brewery?

This event will begin at 18:00.
