Acoustic Bhuna is Band On The Wall’s brand new acoustic showcase evening, playing host to some of the very best acoustic music that the North West has to offer.

Every 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month, between 6 and 10pm, you will be able to see three of the regions finest acts playing for FREE in the cosy setting of Band On The Wall’s Picturehouse Cafe-Bar.

This week’s acts are:

DBH

Acoustic Bhuna is delighted to welcome back Manchester’s favourite nimble-fingered giant, Dan Bridgwood-Hill (a.k.a. DBH), to the Picturehouse stage for a set of his beautiful solo guitar material. Having brought his effortless musicality and multi-instrumental talents to dozens of Manchester bands over the years, DBH finally released his debut solo LP, Time Flies, in December 2012, to huge acclaim. Make sure you don’t miss this performance by one of the lynchpins of the Manchester music scene.

Robert John

Possessed of one of the most powerful and distinctive voices on the Manchester music scene, when Robert John let’s forth a roar, or plummets ominously into his seemingly bottomless low register, the ground seems to quake with barely-harnessed passion. Perfectly augmented by the percussion, backing vocals and sheer energy of the inimitable Kevin Morel, Rob’s solo material has an intense, brooding quality which draws the listener in and seems to grab hold of your very bones.

Race to the Sea

Sunday night regulars at Band On The Wall will recognise Race to the Sea as the musical guise of Manchester-based song writer Dan Peacock. Layering gentle, floating guitars with subtle yet beguiling vocals, Race To The Sea produces a sound that is thoroughly captivating and very much his own. Music to soothe even the most ruffled souls.

As a perfect accompaniment to the live music, you can tuck into one of Chef Giles’ fresh, home made curries, made with locally sourced ingredients and a whole lot of love. And why not wash it all down with a refreshing pint of cask ale from our sponsors, Green Mill Brewery?
