Call out for young people to join the Children of Rhythm Reggae Orchestra

Inner City Music, the charity that owns and operates the famous Band on the Wall venue, is calling out for young people to join the Children of Rhythm Reggae Orchestra.

We are looking for a cohort of young musicians to become the core peer leaders of this group, learning from seasoned professionals and getting access to the professional resources we have available at Band on the Wall. The target age range is 12 to 18, but they should already be able to play and have some experience of playing in an ensemble or band.

We are initiating the project at Band on the Wall on Saturday 25th May from 10am to 2pm, with open workshops and sessions led by Theo Carthy of Edward II and can make travel bursaries available (up to £10). We will also supply lunch (pizza!) and refreshments throughout the day.

To sign up or for more information, please email Laura at laura.burgess@bandonthewall.org.

Please note that we have fully developed Child Protection and Data Protection policies and are supported by Arts Council England, National Lottery Heritage Fund and MCC. This project is also being delivered with in kind support from One Education. We have funding to support this project for at least 4 years (with a regular Saturday music club starting in September), but intend to keep it going for as long as possible.
