Discolypso returns to Band on the Wall on Friday 19th April, providing a soundtrack that captures the true essence of a Caribbean dancefloor: funk, afrobeat, Afro-Cuban, Latin and salsa all finding their way into the mix. As always, Simon “Fresh” Ham and Gavin Wilks select an authentic array of tracks to get you moving until the early hours.
Ahead of the night, we’ve gone into the African and Latin music archives to assemble a ten-track Disco ‘69 playlist, with each recording have been released half-a-century ago. With tracks from Ray Barretto, Fela Kuti and Kante Manfila, it’s the perfect piece of preparatory listening!
